Fictional private detective Michael Shayne was created by writer Brett Halliday in the late 1930s, and was featured in 12 films, a radio series, and a 32-episode NBC television series. This collection features four (Michael Shayne - Private Detective, The Man Who Wouldn't Die, Sleepers West and Blue, White and Perfect) of the seven films released by Twentieth Century Fox and starring Lloyd Nolan, five additional were later released by PRC in 1946, and starred Hugh Beaumont (Leave It to Beaver).
