Rating: 2/5 -- Poorly cast and plotted, but still weirdly interesting.

A splendid, heartless, virtuoso's performance it is again, larger than life and larger, too, than the film in which it finds itself. Full Review

Rating: B- -- Got trapped in a ridiculous deep-freeze as if trying its best to make the bigamist into an Albert Schweitzer. Full Review

Lupino's treatment of an adulterous husband is so even-handed, so sympathetic, you don't just feel for him; you understand him. Full Review

Rating: 3.5/4 -- While viewers' reactions will likely vary greatly, Lupino refuses to take sides, and the result is a film that exists in a surprising moral gray area rarely seen in 1953. Full Review

Product Description:

A salesman marries a wealthy woman from a blue-blooded L.A. family (Fontaine) and a street-smart waitress in a San Francisco Chinese restaurant. Driven to this agonizing extreme more by his big heart than lust, the bigamist strains to keep his double life a secret from the women he truly loves. Curiously non-judgmental, particularly as it's directed by a woman, Lupino (it's also the only production in which she directed herself).
