Rating: 0/5 -- The acting is abysmal, and the gloating depiction of violence is hard to take, unless you're extremely thick and perverted. Full Review

It's one of those movies that belongs in an incinerator rather than a cinema. Full Review
Observer (UK)

Rating: 2/5 -- It boasts more than its share of "WTF!?" moments in the third reel, but it's not enough to salvage an otherwise tedious film that's thin on charm and thrills. Full Review

Rating: 3.5/5 -- The fact that filmmakers Mitchell Altieri and Phil Flores call themselves the Butcher Brothers tells you what to expect from this film. But as the plot twists and turns, we never have a clue where it's going. Full Review

Description by Vanguard Cinema:

A modern thriller in the tradition of Kubrick and Lynch - "The Violent Kind' tells the story of a US Marine who has just returned home after three tours of duty in Iraq. In an attempt to reunite with his young wife and Vietnam veteran father, he takes them back to the family cabin in Montana. Once there his past and present collide in a horrific tale that descents into insanity as he comes face to face with terror dug up from the past, with fateful consequences for everyone close to him. The Violent Kind will receive it's theatrical debut just two months prior to the home video release date. In the tradition of Cape Fear and Identity.
