Description by OLDIES.com:
August T. Harrison, private eye, comes out of retirement to solve a bizarre missing persons case. Digging deeper, he becomes embroiled in a dark conspiracy involving the supernatural writings of H.P. Lovecraft. To his shock, Harrison discovers that Lovecraft's tales of mythic Elder Gods about to conquer Earth were not fiction...but all horribly real...
Jerry Lacy played multiple roles on the cult gothic soap opera Dark Shadows (1966-1971). They included Tony Peterson, a Humphrey Bogart-esque investigator (he also essayed an uncanny impersonation of Bogie in Woody Allen's Play It Again, Sam.) In many ways, August T. Harrison is a continuation of that character. Also appearing is Lacy's fellow Dark Shadows alum Lisa Blake Richards as Harrison's wife. Ansel Faraj, the director of 2013's Doctor Mabuse, was inspired not only by the writings of Lovecraft, but also the gothic cinema of Val Lewton (Cat People).
