"Listen to them. Children of the night. What music they make."
Entertainment Reviews:
As effective and fat-free as its sinewy star, Luke Evans, DRACULA UNTOLD proves an absorbing, swiftly comprehensive origin tale.
Los Angeles Times
Rating: C --
Like a mix between Braveheart and a literal bat-man, Transylvania's favorite son has been reformatted and given a plot full of the worst moments from The Lord of the Rings series.

The Reader (Omaha, NE)
[Evans] carries Untold by admirably fulfilling the two essential functions of a period-movie hero: to enunciate comic-book dialogue with Shakespearean authority and to look great with his shirt off.

TIME Magazine
As long as you don't really associate Untold with any previous Dracula renditions or think about the history behind it, then it's a relatively fun and painless popcorn-munching storm.

Screen Queens
Rating: 5/10 --
[Dracula Untold] gives us a nonsensical picture of a tortured hero, forced by nobility into his life of mutilation. Even with stellar performances, it is a story that was better off Untold.

Sometimes, what a film needs is a good script, and this proves that some stories are probably best left untold.

Times of Malta
I love a good antihero as much as the next critic, but Dracula's just not hero material. Even when he's awkwardly crammed into a heroic role, he doesn't behave heroically. He behaves like Vlad The Impaler, and we're supposed to cheer his brutality.

Product Description:
Director Gary Shore revamps the mythos surrounding Vlad the Impaler in DRACULA YEAR ZERO, a Universal Pictures release from a script by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. The horror tale is set to take place in Romania during the Turkish invasion as Vlad (Luke Evans) goes to the greatest of lengths to fight for his homeland -- even if it means selling his soul and becoming forever doomed as a creature of the night.
