Rating: 3/4 --
If you haven't seen a Weerasethakul film yet, here's a good opportunity, but leave your expectations at the door. There's no one like him.

San Francisco Chronicle
[Notable] for the way it implies a distinction between the usual intrusions of otherworldly activity -- the spectral guests everyone on screen seems to take in stride, like a visit from the mailman -- and the hallucinatory visions that can’t necessarily be trusted.

Rating: 5/5 --
Given the cultural boundaries, there is much in the film that we may never fully grasp, but the less we're told, the more were sucked in by the film's hypnotic, ever-expanding aura of mystery.

An interesting, well-established world and its characters are frustratingly under-served by the placid direction and drab framing.

Product Description:
In this surreal drama from visionary Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul, a rural school is converted into a makeshift clinic for a group of soldiers that have fallen into a mysterious coma. A kindhearted volunteer nurse (Jenjira Pongpas) develops feelings for one of the soldiers, and enlists the help of a psychic (Jarinpattra Rueangram) in order to communicate with him. CEMETERY OF SPLENDOR made its world premiere at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
