Entertainment Reviews:
Rating: 2.5/5 --
Cherry cribs from The Graduate, Educating Rita, Good Will Hunting and Legally Blonde, but never comes close to being as funny or as touching as those movies at their best.

Rating: 2.5/4 --
The movie stirs up a thoroughly relatable swirl of youthful tentativeness, raging hormones, and the thrill and angst that come with new independence - all the things running through a good kid's head at 17.

Boston Globe
Rating: 4/5 --
The performances are natural, there's no fancy camerawork and the story itself is rather simple. It's smart, funny, touching and overall a fantastically entertaining film.

Why's it special? Partly because of the performances. Partly because of the depth of characterization. Partly because of assured direction.
Austin American-Statesman
As ungainly and unkempt as its teen protagonist.

Product Description:
A scorching love triangle threatens to destroy the lives of three Los Angelenos in this intense psychological drama. Sensitive Brian is in a particularly vulnerable position when he falls for sultry, free-spirited actress Jules. Though their sex life is electric, Jules is unlike any woman Brian has ever known. In addition to having deep psychic scars that have forever altered her views on sex and love, Jules claims that all we really ever know about others are the secret hopes that we project onto them. Meanwhile, Jules goes to work for Brian's best friend Sam, a handsome misogynist who runs a high-class escort service for wealthy L.A. businessmen. When the sexual tension between Sam and Jules erupts into a passionate affair, Jules decides to leave Brian for Sam. Devastated, Brian plummets down a dark path of psychological torment that unlocks a side of his personality no one has ever seen, and discovers just how little about Jules he ever really knew.
