By focusing on Quade's absolute respect for military service and authority, Salzberg and Tureaud miss an opportunity to explore her pragmatic conservatism, lyrically expressed in her profiles of unquestioning heroism. Full Review

Rating: 3/10 -- Danger Close fetes veterans less than it does Quade, who gets to talk herself up, often in an unseemly manner, coming across as braggadocios about her own bravery even as she pays lip service to the solemnity of her job. Full Review

Product Description:

Director Kriv Stenders' war drama revolves around the Battle of Long Tan, 1966, which involved the Viet Cong and the People's Army of Vietnam's confrontation with the 1st Australian Task Force. Travis Fimmel plays Major Harry Smith, the leader of a unit of 108 inexperienced Australian and New Zealand soldiers. As the enemy closes in and their ammunition runs out, they muster the courage and fortitude to survive increasingly dire odds.
