TOMATOMETER
3.5 stars out of 4 -- It's impossible not to fall hard for Greta Gerwig, who wrote the script with Baumbach and plays Frances with such smart, rumpled radiance that you bask in her glow.
Rolling Stone
4 stars out of 5 -- Gerwig’s relatable, unshowy performance always gives us something to root for...
Total Film
FRANCES HA lavishes its gorgeous monochromes on contemporary New York and the luminous countenance of Greta Gerwig...
Chicago Sun-Times
FRANCES HA has a warmth and lightness absent from Baumbach’s earlier films...
Uncut
[I]t perfectly captures the intense need for close friendship that people have in their post-college lives, and the pain and joy that comes with that.
The Atlantic
Noah Baumbach's bittersweet comedy FRANCES HA is a surprising coming-of-age story about two best friends grappling with adult life in New York City. -- Grade: B+
Entertainment Weekly
FRANCES HA is a wry and moving portrait of friendship, highlighting the way that two people who know everything about each other can nevertheless grow apart as their needs change. -- Grade: A-

Product Description:
Directed by Noah Baumbach, FRANCES HA stars Greta Gerwig as Frances, a twentysomething Brooklynite barely making a living as an apprentice with a dance company. Her greatest happiness is the friendship she shares with Sophie (Mickey Sumner), but when Sophie moves away, Frances goes on a downward spiral that includes unemployment, failing to find the right guy, and moving into a series of smaller and smaller apartments. Co-written by Baumbach and Gerwig, FRANCES HA screened at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival.
