Description by OLDIES.com:

The Sound of Philadelphia comes alive on this great volume of Pop and R&B favorites. Included in this collection of 20 hits are gems such as "Rich Girl" by Hall & Oates, "Expressway to Your Heart" by the Soul Survivors, "La La Means I Love You" by The Delfonics and many more.

Product Description:

Liner Note Authors: Mark Marymont; Scott Walker.
An apple and oranges compilation of Philly hits, spanning from Frankie Avalon to Harold Melvin & the Bluenotes. Most were major hits, but it includes a few tracks litle known outside the Philly/tri-state area like Anthony & the Sophomores' "Play Those Oldies Mr. DJ," the Dreamlovers' "You Gave Me Somebody to Love," and the Majors' "A Wonderful Dream." The oldies but goodies include Chubby Checker's "The Twist," the O'Jay's "I Love Music," Danny & the Juniors' "At the Hop," and many more, 21 in all. The price is more than reasonable, and the music is great. ~ Andrew Hamilton

WOGL Oldies 98.1 FM - Philly Favorites! Music Lover: from BRONX, NY US -- February, 18, 2018

The Sound of Philadelphia is integral to Rock N Roll music! From American Bandstand to Will Smith, The music from Philadelphia has enthralled us all! In this CD set, you start from the beginning with When You Dance by the Turbans and end with Rich Girl by Hall& Coates! My only complaint is that the CD is missing some very important artists who also contributed to the Sound Of Philadelphia like Fabian, Bobby Rydell, The Dovells, Jay & The Techniques, Barbara Mason, Brenda &The Tabulations, Eddie Holman,The Stylistics, Blue Magic plus certain songs like Elton John's Philadelphia Freedom and of course The Theme of Rocky by Tim Conti! Again, this CD set is good but could be a lot better!

Very on the money Music Lover: from Washington D.C., DC US -- October, 3, 2006

Great collection of the Philadelphia sound.
