Product Description:
Comedian Murray Roman was one of the great observational humorists that sprung up in the early 1960's and became, like his contemporary, George Carlin, a comedian who spoke to the growing counter-culture in a way that combined the realism of Lenny Bruce with the brewing hippie movement. Roman appeared on television quite often; on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show, in skits on Batman, as a writer and occasional skit man on the controversial Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, and as a choice opening act for major rock bands like the Doors and Country Joe & the Fish. Roman remains something of an enigma today, and his original comedy LPs are scarce and highly valued among collectors. Unfortunately, Roman remains a scarcely remembered underground figure as well, mainly because his life was cut short in his prime when he died tragically in a car accident in 1973. Presented here, for the first time in the digital domain, is Roman's first comedy album, Out of Control, originally released in 1961 and featuring a bit about skiing that he later performed on the Smother Brothers Comedy Hour. All selections newly remastered. [Note: This product is an authorized CD-R and is manufactured on demand]
