Description by OLDIES.com:
The Archive of World War Two is a series of original archive documentaries filmed under actual battle conditions by service and newsreel cameramen attached to American, British, French, Russian and enemy forces. The True Glory is the stirring story of the Allied Invasion of Europe and their victory over Nazi Germany during WWII. The film is introduced by General Dwight D. Eisenhower and covers the key European engagements beginning just before D-Day through to the fall of Berlin. The production was created from footage shot by combat cameramen from many countries and the film includes individual stories, which brings the conflict on film an unprecedented reality. Directed by Garson Kanin, The True Glory won an Academy award for Best Documentary in 1945.
