Rating: 4/5 -- Almost 20 years after the much-loved animated series Dora the Explorer debuted, this live-action update does a terrific job of at being once a homage and a parody. Full Review
[I]t permits Dora to remain indefatigably upbeat no matter what the situation, whether navigating treacherous Incan temples or facing an auditorium of jeering teenage peers.
Rating: 3/5 -- An appreciably peppy entertainment. Full Review
Peña and Longoria have giggly, conspiratorial fun in dispatches.
Rating: 5/10 -- Dora and the Lost City of Gold is not edgy, is not funny enough and does not seem to be really about Dora. Full Review
3 stars out of 5 -- [A] self-deprecating and diverse tale of discovery. Michael Peña’s take on rave culture alone is worth your money.
Rating: 3/5 -- Suffice to say that this film is keenly aware of its origins and their essential absurdity. Full Review
Directed by James Bobin and based on the TV series Dora the Explorer created by Eric Weiner, Valerie Walsh Valdes and Chris Gifford, this family adventure film follows Dora (Isabela Moner) as she moves from the jungle to High School. Inevitably, High School turns into a dramatic adventure to save Dora's Mom (Eva Longoria) and Dad (Michael Peña) and find the lost city of gold, with kids from her school, cousin Diego (Jeffrey Wahlberg), Boots the monkey and a jungle dweller (Eugenio Derbez) coming along for the ride.
