... or all the emotional integrity and observational exactness, it's more social study than character drama.

Days and Clouds, despite its darkness, warmly reminds us that if we have each other, sometimes that's all we need.

A great deal of the reason for that belongs solely to Buy. This is, without a doubt, one of the finest performances by an actress I've seen this year, nearly up to the same remarkable plateau as Kristin Scott Thomas' work in I've Loved You So Long.

Michele and Elsa are realistic characters, both as individuals and as a couple, and Albanese and Buy are excellent....DAYS AND CLOUDS is an intelligent adult drama that's especially relevant...
Los Angeles Times
What the couple endure is the ultimate test of a relationship. And Mr. Albanese and Ms. Buy, in their un-showy ways, make their characters and their deeply lived-in relationship entirely believable.
New York Times
Product Description:
As this Italian drama unfolds, it's clear that even an apparently happy marriage can suffer setbacks that could tear it apart. Elsa (Margherita Buy) and Michele (Antonio Albanese) have a comfortable life together and a daughter they've raised to adulthood. But when Elsa graduates from art school (a longtime dream) and Michele loses his job, everything between them seems to change. Director Silvio Soldini (BREAD AND TULIPS) navigates the story with sensitivity, turning what might be fodder for a daytime drama into a graceful meditation on what pulls us apart and binds us together.
