I was 10 years old when the original greatest hits came out (1959 and a different picture on cover). This was my intro into the world of Mr. Mathis and before I knew it, I could sing every song by heart. My next favorite Johnny is "Heavenly" (that's for another review!)
Till this day, I get into my Johnny mood and before I know it, I have 5 cds on my cd player and cleaning house has never been easier or fun!!
To those who want to see Mr. Mathis as his best from the beginning, pick us this greatest hits and the heavenly album, grab something to drink, dim the lights, put your feet up and if you have someone with you......all the better.....and enjoy an musical experience into the world of vocals, which consists of pure voice and great musical arrangements. You can actually learn the words == like I did == from the songs. the music never gets in the way but to highligh Mr. Mathis!
