Miles Davis Plays Ballads & Blues (2-LP)

Miles feeling for the blues was present on all of his performances, whether ballads or up-tempo tunes. While he didnt specialize in the blues, he recorded many of them in the course of his career, and they were certainly part of his roots, as he explained in his autobiography. While many writers have associated the blues with sadness and poverty, Miles refuted such simplification. Three examples of Miles blues playing have been included here, all of them featuring him sharing the front line with tenor saxophonists (either John Coltrane or Sonny Rollins).
