Product Description:

Chicago's Buckinghams were one of the first examples of what music writer Eddie Gorodetsky later termed "goatee rock," a blend of British Invasion pop and Stax/Volt soul that had elements of both but didn't really sound much like either. This sound eventually transmuted into the jazz-tinged horn rock of Blood Sweat and Tears, Chicago, or Three Dog Night, however the Buckinghams were a much poppier group.
The four big hits on this excellent 18-track compilation, the title track, "Kind of a Drag," Don't You Care," and "Hey Baby, They're Playing Our Song," are the kind of instantly familiar, yet not overplayed, singles that are the hallmark of a good oldies radio station. The other tracks, including a handful of rarities and unreleased cuts, are similarly soulful pop gems. The package includes copious liner notes, rare photos, and excellently remastered sound.

THE BUCKINGHAMS-YUCK! Music Lover: from BRONX, NY US -- September, 10, 2014

WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP! THERE A BIG REASON WHY THE BUCKINGHAMS DIDNT HAVE A SUCCESSFUL RECORDING CAREER-THE GROUP HAD NO TALENT! LISTENING TO THIS GROUP IS LIKE PRESSING CHALK ON A CHALKBOARD-VERY ANNOYING! THEY HAD 2 OR 3 HITS AT MOST BUT THAT SONG "SUSAN" PROBABLY TIES BOBBY GOLDSBORO "HONEY" AS THE WORST RECORD I EVER HEARD! THIS GROUP CAME OUT OF THE CHICAGO IN THE 1960s WHERE THE IMPRESSIONS AND RAL DONNER DOMINATED THE CHARTS! AVOID THE BUCKINGHAMS AND LISTEN TO THE GROUP "CHICAGO"- NOW THATS MUSIC!

Mercy,Mercy,Mercy (A Collection) Music Lover: from San Leandro,CA -- November, 2, 2011

Really good CD if it had the song And Our Love on it then it gets 5 Stars but for the price you cant go wrong there is some pretty good songs here besides the classic Kind Of A Drag.
