I was won over by Zellweger's ferociously strong performance, and by characters and scenes I hadn't seen before.

A Price Above Rubies isn't a particularly good movie, though Zellweger shines in a tough, gritty role that foreshadowed her more serious acting ambitions.

Combustible Celluloid
Writer and director Boaz Yakin has fashioned a beguiling drama about the deep yearning we all have to express our heart's desire. The film's title is from Proverbs 31:10.

Spirituality and Practice
Product Description:
Free spirit Sonia longs to escape the restrictions of the community into which she was born--the tiny, hermetic cultural circle of the Brooklyn Hasidim--and rebels against her erudite but emotionally cold arranged husband by initiating two affairs: one with his jeweler brother, and one with a Puerto Rican outsider whose experience of life is miles apart from hers. Less an exploration of the conflicts between Hasidic tradition and modernity than a standard story of self-realization.
