Product Description:

With a smooth baritone and easy delivery, Cisco Houston was one of the finest vocalists and guitarists to ever sing a folk tune. Best known for his close association to Woody Guthrie, Cisco Houston was one of the most influential of all the early folk singers and appeared on the first two albums ever issued by the legendary Folkways label. Presented here is his classic 1955 recordings, performing a program of mostly Woody Guthrie songs, a few he wrote with Woody, one associated with Leadbelly ("Take A Whiff On Me") and one old traditional children's song ("Skip To My Lou"). All selections newly remastered.
