The pulpy neo-noir COLD IN JULY should propel the filmmaking team of Jim Mickle and Nick Damici further up the blood-spattered, zombie-infested hierarchy of B-movie auteurs with Hollywood ambitions.

Rating: 6/10 -- With strong character work from Hall, Shepard and Johnson; Cold in July is a fun little noir film that is worth spending the time with on a rainy night. Full Review

There’s a very 1980s vibe to the middle passage, especially once the director cranks up Jeff Grace’s mood music....Entertaining...

Product Description:

Initially hailed as a hero for fatally shooting a low-life burglar who broke into his house, small-town Texan Richard Dane (Michael C. Hall) begins to fear for his family's safety when the victim's ex-con father (Sam Shepard) turns up in town making some not-so-veiled threats. Don Johnson, Vinessa Shaw, and Nick Damici (who also penned the screenplay) co-star in this thriller directed by Jim Mickle (STAKE LAND, WE ARE WHAT WE ARE) and based on the book by Joe R. Landsdale.
