Product Description:
In simple words Nishtiman means homeland. Never has a Kurdish music band carried this name, never. It is true that the music of Kurdistan has never been celebrated as such. We already know the music of Turkish Kurdistan, the music of Kurdish Iraqi, the music of the Iranian Kurdish, the music of the Kurdish Syria - And all the syntactic variations that can inspire the Kurdish peoples geography divided among four countries.Nishtiman is a singular adventure: gather musicians from various nationalities around Kurdish nations music, language and culture. A pioneering and daring musical adventure while the laws of politics and habits imposed by History and cultural routine have always separated the Kurds, including festival programmation and music industry. And yet, the Kurdistan does exist, if it comes to music. First, for the fourteen million people spread across four countries, also the four different political regimes and four specific historical situations. There is one language and a huge musical heritage in which common values always outweigh particularities. More importantly, the Kurdish people are passionate about music. In collective or private celebrations, in exceptional circumstances such as in ceremonies governed by the calendar (starting with the New Year, Nowruz), people sing, play and dance. There are no blues or morna Kurdish. The music of the people is cheerfull, lively, happy and tends to jubilation, shared pleasure and pure festive expression.
