But what goes on in the editing studio is usually a mystery to the general public, and remains an exclusive art that has been finally honed by a select band of practitioners, with many of the top directors in the game relying on these shadowy figures to help them turn their movies into masterpieces. THE CUTTING EDGE: THE MAGIC OF EDITING focuses on a number of these talented editors, in an attempt to gain a greater understanding of how the process works. Among those taking part are Zach Staenberg, who worked on THE MATRIX, while narration comes from actress Kathy Bates.
