Product Description:

Wexford born Joey Ryan has spent the last 18 months recording under the shadow of the Sugar Loaf Mountains in Silverwood Studios. The result is 'Morning will come soon' - the title of his debut studio album - due for release on the 14th of September 2012. The record is the culmination of 2 years of writing which saw Ryan mature and expand musically, which is reflected in this collection of music. For the 20 year old musician, this album is the result of touring and gigging since the age of 15, which has seen him fine tune his live act, whether it is a solo, trio or full band show. Ryan has already toured in the UK twice, and played support to many fantastic musicians back home such as Jack L, Kelly Joe Phelps, Mick Flannery, John Spillane and Duke Special to name but a few. Following a move to the city of Cork to pursue a continuing UCC degree in Music, Ryan let the music of the city and college engulf him, creating a 3 year period of exploring new music and finding new influences, which allowed him to start refining his own sound. MWCS is a collection of - as Ryan likes to call it - dark, romantic rock music. The album ranges from the desolation of tracks such as 'Sleep tonight', to the delicate and bittersweet tones of 'Be near', and the all out frustration of lead single 'Nothing to show'. Recorded under the watchful eye of producer and multi instrumentalist Gavin Ralston, the record also features the extreme talents of some of Ireland finest musicians, in the form of Johnny Boyle on drums, Aongus Ralston on bass, Clodagh Kearney on backing vocals and Rory McCarthy on keys. The launch night in Wexford Arts Centre on September 14th is the start of an 18 date Irish tour which will see Ryan visit many of the country's finest venues, with plans for a return to the UK in motion for early 2013.
