Despite its visual polish and fine ensemble, this British police drama is strictly by-the-numbers.

Welcome to the Punch is by no means groundbreaking or challenging as a motion picture, but it packs a lot of (pun intended) punch.

Tense, beautifully shot and great performances from its male leads, Welcome To The Punch is more than your average British cop film and it's an appreciated addition to the genre.

Product Description:
A top detective uncovers a massive conspiracy while pursuing an elusive criminal in this glossy action thriller from director Eran Creevy and executive producer Ridley Scott. Three years ago, notorious thief Jacob Sternwood (Mark Strong) slipped through Detective Max Lewinski's fingers. To this day, Lewinski (James McAvoy) remains haunted by his failure to put Sternwood behind bars. When Sternwood's son is admitted to a London hospital with a gunshot wound, however, Lewinski knows the boy's father will show up to spring him. Now, as Lewinski probes deeper into Sternwood's past than ever before, it quickly becomes apparent he's just a minor cog in a much bigger machine. Peter Mullan and David Morrissey co-star.
