Product Description:
Tom Taylor has spent most of his musical career playing in the Vancouver band 'She Stole My Beer'. After two albums and years of touring, the band decided to call it quits prompting Tom to pursue songwriting as a solo artist. He attributes his songwriting style largely to influences the likes of Joe Ely and John Hiatt. 'King of July', features the guitar playing of Canadian string virtuoso Steve Dawson, renown for his work with Canadian group 'Zubot and Dawson' as well as playing with Kelly Joe Phelps. The rhythm section on 'King of July' consists of Geoff Hicks of 'She Stole My Beer' on drums and Darren Paris on Bass. Both of these players are among Canada's finest musicians. The striking back up vocals on the album are provided by Jeanne Tolmie of 'JT King' and Big Yellow Taxi' fame. On 'King of July', Taylor carries on the classic tradition of the singer/songwriter, capturing the listener with introspective and emotion filled lyrics.
