Product Description:
Guitarist and composer Luiz Bonfa was a star in his native Brazil for almost 50 years, from the 1940's up to his death in 2001. He is best known internationally for the song 'Manha de Carnaval (Morning of Carnival)' (aka 'A Day in the Life of a Fool'), one of the most recorded compositions of all time, that he wrote for Marcel Camus' award winning film, Orfeu Negro (Black Orpheus), one of bossa nova's most significant early landmarks. His astonishing solo recording from 1972, Introspection is rightfully considered to be among Bonfa's finest achievements. Recorded in Rio and New York for RCA in 1970, the New Face of Bonfa was the label's attempt at a "cross-over" success in America.
