In 2009, Berlin-born maestro Christian Thielemann decided to team up with the revered Wiener Philharmoniker for a historic event called the 'Beethoven Nine': performances of each of Ludwig Von Beethoven's nine symphonies, accompanied by the production of nine documentaries - one devoted to each orchestral work. This particular volume includes interpretations of three: Symphony No. 4 in B Flat Major, Symphony No. 5 in C Minor and Symphony No. 6 in F Major. It also includes three DISCOVERING BEETHOVEN documentaries, featuring Joachim Kaiser and Christian Thielmann - one on Symphony No. 4, a second on Symphony No. 5 and a third on Symphony No. 6.
