Product Description:

"One of the most forceful and intelligent of American quartets." -THE NEW YORKER

"An exciting ensemble. They all play with precision, commitment, and a clear understanding of what this music is about." – NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO

Three of Mozart's greatest chamber works performed by one of America's leading chamber ensembles. Founded in 1986, the Chicago Chamber Musicians (CCM) is a society of professional musicians and music devotees dedicated to excellence in the study and performance of chamber music. CCM has grown to be a national leader in providing the highest quality programs in artistic development, concert performance, and education. Creativity, generosity of spirit, and artistic drive are the ensemble's hallmarks as they strive to share the joy of music with the public, thereby enriching the cultural life of Chicago and beyond. Established by four artists, CCM now has thirteen ensemble members including Chicago Symphony Orchestra Principal Clarinet Larry Combs, Assistant Principal Oboe Michael Henoch, and former Associate Principal Horn Gail Williams. CCM has performed throughout the United States as well as Tokyo, Salzburg, Berlin, and Giverny, France. Acclaimed for its vibrant and compelling performances of classic repertoire as well as its persuasive advocacy of new music, CCM has received two prestigious Chamber Music America-ASCAP Awards for Adventurous Programming, commissioned thirteen works from today's leading composers, and recorded thirteen discs including previously unrecorded works by John Harbison, David Diamond, and Bruce Adolphe.
