recordings of three new concertos by three renowned composers: Joan Tower,
Lera Auerbach, and Gabriela Lena Frank. Tower s Purple Rhapsody features violist
Paul Neubauer; Frank s Compadrazgos features power duo pianist Wu Han and
cellist David Finckel; and Auerbach s Fragile Solitudes, written for string quartet
and chamber orchestra, features the Borremeo String Quartet. All three works
were commissioned by the award-winning ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, and
were recorded at the Southern Theatre in Columbus, Ohio under the baton of
music director Timothy Russell.
