Product Description:
Though documentarian Paul Lacoste built his career on a series of films about male chefs, this particular effort finds him switching genders to focus on a woman, Nadia Santini - proprietress of the Dal Pescatore ristorante in Canetto sull'Oglio, Northern Italy. The film shows how Santini's family members are closely integrated into the establishment - everyone from her daughter-in-law to her two sons; it also discusses the culture and history of the restaurant. But the film places its strongest emphasis on Santini's culinary art - which manifests itself in ongoing attempts to revive centuries-old Italian culinary traditions.
