The Runaways Jambodia

The CD: Jambodia is the first work in the Jambodia Trilogy. Jambodia is best described as world fusion with multi-ethnic, neo-classical, and techno-electronic flavorings all pumped up with some serious funk and a whole lot of attitude! Jambodia carries a stimulating cadence throughout and is great for progressive or creative dance and aerobic exercise. It provides an energizing and up-lifting atmosphere that is stimulating but at the same time strangely calming. The flavors: Jambodia is heavily influenced by progressive and modern musical styles; Classical, Jazz, Trance, World-beat and even some good ole' Rock n' Roll. The blend of cultural rhythms produced with ancient instruments and modern electrified melodies are sometimes subtle but frequently obvious. This unexpected blend works and imbues a intoxicating flavor to the Jambodia brew. The Premise: The work is an energetic musical journey within the imaginary kingdom of Jambodia, a place where musical boundaries do not exist and the ancient and modern electronic rhythms blend and coexists to bring about an entirely new sound that is grounded in the distant past. The Artist: Dr. Von Zuko is a bit of an enigma even to those relatively few people who believe they know him quite well. Frequently characterized as reclusive, the strange doctor has been known to spend days-on-end locked away in his studio, 'The Temple of Digital Dreams.' In the sanctity of this mysterious (and sound proof) technology laden lair, the doctor invokes the forces of both digital and ancient musical realms and his compositions materialize. Discovering performing arts, music, and technology in his early adolescence, Von Zuko earned his first real recognition as a guitarist, vocalist, sometime percussionist, and keyboard jockey - in a fairly short list of popular rock, jazz, and even country groups. Roading and radio play was personally enriching back then (and a hell of a lot of fun); however, it was the desire to eat regularly and live under a weather-tight roof that drove Von Zuko toward the more 'life sustaining' digital technologies. The rest (as they say) is history!
