Product Description:
Steve Boker and Nick Stoner have been playing music together since the mid 1970s. At first they sat in with each other's bands, such as Omnibus, Crawford Derelicti and others. In the mid 1980s Steve and Nick began playing improvisational music as a duo and writing songs together at Denver's Triple Helix Sound. Some of their musical collaborations can be found on the two Solenoids albums, Silicon Pan Alley and Not From This Planet. In the spring of 2010, Steve and Nick reunited as a duo after 19 years. Meeting at the funeral of a mutual friend, Steve and Nick decided to record an acoustic improvisational album of impressions on piano and guitar. This album was recorded on March 8, 2010 at Colorado Sound. The studio engineer set up the microphones and put Pro Tools into record and Nick and Steve played for about 4 hours. These five songs are part of the full improvisational session. The mix was performed at Triple Helix Sound in Charlottesville and mastering is by Phillip Klum Mastering in New York City. The view from orbit is vast and deep Changing and timeless Distant but forever approaching Weightless and spinning We come around again This beautiful blue pearl In an ocean of black.
