As originally produced in Britain for the BBC in the early 1970s, and later aired in the U.S. on PBS's MASTERPIECE THEATRE, the LORD PETER WIMSEY mysteries constituted adaptations of Dorothy L. Sayers's popular crime thrillers that featured the titular 1920s sleuth. So popular were these programs on PBS, in fact, that they inspired an entire spin-off series, MYSTERY!. This particular volume includes two original feature-length WIMSEY episodes: CLOUDS OF WITNESS (which finds Wimsey investigating the death of his future brother-in-law) and THE UNPLEASANTNESS AT THE BELLONA CLUB, which finds Wimsey attempting to pinpoint who will inherit a fortune, when a Bellona Club member dies on the same day as his sister.
