This gospel group was organized by Leon Williams in 1960 when they were known as the Little Williams Brothers, a name later changed to the Sensational Williams Brothers and then simply the Williams Brothers. All the Williams Brothers were born in Smithdale, Mississippi, USA, and all came from a religious background. They have been writing and arranging and producing their music since the early 70s and recorded their first album in 1973 on the Songbird label. They have since recorded 18 albums. They have had many hits, including ‘Jesus Will Never Say No, ’ ‘He’ll Understand’, ‘The Boat’, ‘Cover Me’, ‘A Ship Like Mine’ and performed on the Winans Grammy Award song ‘Ain’t No Need To Worry’ featuring Anita Baker.
