Francisco Carlone, 25 March 1903, Providence, Rhode Island, USA, d. 7 March 2001, Mesa, Arizona, USA. Carle was taught to play the piano by his uncle, the celebrated pianist Nicholas Colangelo. At the age of nine he was playing in ballrooms, before joining Edwin J. McEnelly’s orchestra in 1925, which was followed by a brief spell with Mal Hallett.
