The Harry Zimmerman Orchestra was quite busy in Hollywood during the late 1950's and early 1960's. Aside from movie and television scores, Harry Zimmerman and his orchestra backed popular vocalists such as Doris Day and Dinah Shore and appeared on both the Dinah Shore and Carol Burnett variety shows. An extremely versatile band, they recorded everything from cocktail music to polkas, but their preferred style was classic Dixieland jazz. This vintage audiophile recording from 1958, "Big Dixie," features Harry's big band masterfully performing a set of Dixieland jazz standards. All selections newly remastered.
