While The Auctioneer contained the highlights of Leroy Van Dyke's '50s hits for Dot, Walk On By concentrates on his early '60s singles for Mercury, including "If A Woman Answers (Hang Up the Phone)," "Black Cloud," "Happy to Be Unhappy" and the title track, which spent an extraordinary 19 weeks at the top of the country charts. By and large, the material on Walk On By is stronger than that on The Auctioneer, making it an excellent introduction to this talented singer. ~ Thom Owens
