One of the great jazz pianists of the post be-bop era, Gerry Wiggins spent many years as an accompanist for such jazz luminaries as Lena Horne, Nat King Cole, Eartha Kitt, Lou Rawls, Joe Williams and other greats, but recorded only two albums where he is featured on the Hammond B-3 organ. The classic 1960 recording "Wiggin' Out" is a thoroughly swinging affair, featuring tenor saxophonist Harold Land and drummer Jackie Mills who supply masterful support and leave plenty of space for Wiggins' intense organ solos.
