Entertainment Reviews:
Product Description:
Bach's "Suites No. 3 & 4 for Unaccompanied Cello" are what inspire these two innovative blends of music and cinematic form. Segments in the award-winning YO-YO MA INSPIRED BY BACH series, the two hour-long films are innovative hybrids of classical music performance and another artform. In Part 3, FALLING DOWN STAIRS, the other artform is modern dance. Director Barbara Willis Sweete's watchful camera eye records the Bach-inspired dance creation of superstar choreographer Mark Morris. Morris and Yo-Yo Ma's mutual exploration of Bach's "Suite No. 3" have led to the creation of a unique body "composition" which impresses in its originality. SARABANDE, inspired by "Suite No.4," is a dramatic short directed by the always cutting-edge director Atom Egoyan. As he did in his acclaimed film THE SWEET HEREAFTER, Egoyan explores the intense emotions which underscore the human experience.
