Rating: 4/5 --
Good swashbuckler in early Technicolor marred by stiff direction from Parker.
Mountain Xpress (Asheville, NC)
The best stunts were actually performed by Richard Talmadge, but Fairbanks is captivating.
New Times
For this film, Fairbanks scaled back, making it his shortest and least extravagant.

Description by OLDIES.com:
When the Duke of Arnoldo learns that his father has been killed by pirates, he joins up with a rival pirate band to seek revenge. Douglas Fairbanks stars in this story of a bold buccaneer, one who enters the pirate world thinking only of violence, but soon finds himself smitten with a damsel he finds onboard. Also starring Billie Dove, Tempe Pigott, and Donald Crisp, this swashbuckling adventure was a major success upon its 1926 release, and one of Fairbanks' best!
