Product Description:

The 1960s saw the rise of The Last Poets, a collection of African-American poets and musicians who were heavily influenced by that time's civil rights movement. One of those artists is Umar Bin Hassan, and this documentary sheds light on his struggles as an artist and as a person through intimate interviews with him and those closest to him. After battling drug addiction and being absent from his children's lives, Hassan confronts the consequences of his actions with the hopes of reconnecting with all he lost. Directed by Daniel Krikke.
