Michelle Pfeiffer gives a Bentley of a performance...
Chicago Sun-Times

Pfeiffer is unsurprisingly glorious to watch; her face, when her financial advisor first breaks the bad news, passes through some 17 separate micro-expressions before she even utters another word.

Pfeiffer is flat-out fabulous here, at once chilly and poignant.

Rating: 2.5/5 -- Despite Pfeiffer's delightful performance, French Exit is a flawed & unmemorable film. It's tough to connect or relate to any of the characters, and the bizarre events are done in such a nonchalant way that one can't help but just shrugs them off. Full Review

You might feel sorry, though, for Michelle Pfeiffer and Lucas Hedges, two talented performers who just cannot figure out their characters and flail as a result. Full Review

3 stars out of 5 -- As broke socialite Frances Price in FRENCH EXIT, Michelle Pfeiffer digs into one of her juiciest roles yet, one that plays on her impossible beauty as well as her capacity for lacerating detachment.

Rating: 3.5/4 -- It's a study of a character unlike any other I can recall, an unorthodox woman who achieves a kind of nobility in her insistence on maintaining her dignity. Full Review

Product Description:

Due to financial incapacity after her husband's death, aging socialite Frances (Michelle Pfeiffer) is forced to move out of her luxurious Manhattan apartment and into a small, empty flat in Paris with her son Malcolm (Lucas Hedges) and their pet cat. As they try to rebuild their lives, they meet a plethora of colorful characters: the lonely Mme. Reynard (Valerie Mahaffey), psychic Madeleine (Danielle Macdonald), and private detective Julius (Isaach De Bankolé). This movie, based on Patrick DeWitt's novel of the same name, is directed by Azazel Jacobs.
