Product Description:
Out of print in the U.S.! Sinatra returned to the studio, for this 1979 album, after a lengthy absence and staged an audacious comeback with this triple-record concept set - each of the album's three records was conceived as an individual work, and each was arranged by one of Sinatra's major collaborators - Billy May (The Past), Don Costa (The Present) and Gordon Jenkins (The Future). The best moments are triumphant, proving that the Voice was still vital in his fourth decade of recording and the album was nominated for several Grammy awards. 'The Past' was the first time since the early '60s that Sinatra made a record of standards, 'The Present' concentrating on pop hits like 'Love Me Tender', 'Something', 'Song Sung Blue', 'MacArthur Park', 'Just the Way You Are', and one of his glorious signature tunes - 'Theme From New York, New York'. 'The Future', with songs written by Jenkins, is an ambitious, experimental, and self-referential collection - in fact, it's more of a freeform suite than a set of songs.
