[O]ne of his greatest weaknesses as a friend is one of his greatest strengths as a public figure and a documentary subject: He’s brutally honest, not just about his own mistakes but others’.

The film has a solid first hour, then loses focus and sort of drifts off in its final 30 minutes. Still, there is much to admire here, for this is no warm dip into fuzzy nostalgia. Full Review

Rating: B+ -- Throughout, Crosby is true to himself, even if that means coming to terms with being insufferable. Remember My Name is a portrait of an artist in reflection, and it's a hard, sobering look in the mirror. Full Review

3.5 stars out of 4 --While the documentary does conjure up the whole sex-drugs-rock ’n’ roll ethos of that fabled time with great flair and pungency, it also movingly probes the hazards and costs of the overindulgence and self-deceptions the era’s lures often entailed.

[H]e’s not apologizing; he’s testifying. In REMEMBER MY NAME, he treats his life as a shamanistic parable of pleasure and pain, beauty and loss.

Rating: 3/4 -- Crosby presents a reflective, irascible, observant and irresistibly candid figure in a documentary that ostensibly chronicles one of his many comeback tours but becomes something far more introspective. Full Review

Rating: 4/5 -- This come-clean doc has Crosby telling a lot of solid rock tales all in the name of truth. Whether you believe him or not, though, the man really does make good music, even now at 78.

Product Description:

At 77 years old, musician David Crosby reflects on his life journey and the twists in his path that delivered him to his ripe, old age. Documentarian A.J. Eaton delves into the life of the Byrds founding member and his influence on the folk-rock scene and sheds light on Crosby's darker side as both a criminal and drug addict as he moved on from the Byrds to form the band Crosby, Stills and Nash. As Crosby nears the end of his life, he continues to produce albums with the conviction that he still has much to contribute to the world of music.
