Product Description:

''World Premiere'' recording of these ''lost works'' - Sonatas by this important 18th century composer!

Tomasso Giordani (1738-1806) was an Italian-born composer who spent most of his career in England and Ireland. Primarily a composer of operas, the Opus 30 is one of his rare chamber works. These newly discovered sonatas were published in 1782 and dedicated to ''Right Honorable Lady Viscountess Althorp'' later Lavinia, Countess Spencer who was a keen musician and perhaps performed these works.

The music is performed by Paul Luchkow violin; Sam Stadlen viola da gamba; and Michael Jarvis fortepiano.

An Intercontinental ensemble of leading early music specialists, LSJ Trio specialises in researching, performing, and recording 17th- and 18th-Century repertoire for violin, viola da gamba, and continuo. Based in Canada and the UK.
