Rating: 3/5 -- Interesting, more a docudrama, tale of famous Native American Squanto.
Rating: 3/5 -- Perfectly watchable, if pretty forgettable, family-adventure flick.
...A stirring epic and self-discovery that culminates in the very first Thanksgiving. It is an exceptionally intelligent family film...

Rating: 3/5 -- Story based on famous Native American has peril, violence. Full Review

Rating: 1.5/4 -- Squanto is the kind of superficial, tidied-up, idealized history that might appeal to younger viewers. No thoughtful person will be able to take it seriously. Full Review
Based on the true story of Squanto (Adam Beach), one of the Native Americans responsible for the first Thanksgiving, this live-action adventure tells the tale of the young brave kidnapped by the British as an example of primitive life. After a daring escape, Squanto returns to what's left of his village and tries to teach compassion both to neighboring tribes and the Pilgrims.
Description by Buena Vista Home Entertainment.:
Squanto: A Warrior's Tale
Get ready for nonstop action in this rousing tale of a Native American who defies incredible odds in his struggle for freedom! Squanto, a young warrior abducted from his homeland and enslaved, must battle impossible hazards on a desperate journey home. Driven by a passion to be free, he risks everything to escape his captors, braving the wilderness and triumphing, finally, as a great leader. A vivid true story of one man's unquenchable thirst for independence, SQUANTO: A WARRIOR'S TALE thrills with high-powered action and inspires with legendary courage!
When a party of Englishmen visit an Indian village to engage in trade, they receive a gracious welcome. But the British have more on their mind than business: they want to take some of the "natives" back to England and put them on display. Among the group of captives is Squanto, a young warrior who finds himself torn away from his homeland, his people and his new wife. Once ashore in England, he courageously escapes from his captors and takes refuge with a reclusive community of monks. In time, Squanto and the monks overcome their linguistic differences, and learn that they share similar spiritual and humanitarian beliefs. But neither the monks' friendship nor the security of his new home make Squanto forget what he has lost... and he must do whatever possible, even at the risk of his life, to return to his tribe.
