Entertainment Reviews:
[Marshall] wraps all of his love for Broadway musicals around his cast, pulling out performances that have already drawn awards nominations for Streep and Blunt.

Memphis Flyer
[T]his witty and touching mash-up of several Grimm fairy tales viewed through a post-Freudian prism reimagines Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Jack and other fairy tale figures as complex, self-aware human beings in transition.
New York Times
[The performances] are largely on song, with Streep digging to find pain in the pantomime, Blunt licking her comic chops and Chris Pine attacking his puffed-up Prince with appropriate gusto...
Total Film
3 stars out of 4 -- Some of the best musical moments come when the characters are singing on their own, yet as part of a larger number....Marshall is an old pro, and he makes these numbers work.
Chicago Sun-Times
It is also necessary to give props to the amazing music and congratulate all the actors who took on very complicated songs and made them their own.

Cinema Siren
[T]he movie spends such a wonderfully long time on the first act material, only to skimp on the second act.
