Product Description:

2 LPs on 1 CD: ONE STEP (1962)/ANGEL ON VACATION (1962).
Originally released on Vee-Jay.
Personnel: Prof. Alex Bradford (vocals, piano).
Audio Remixer: Bob Fisher .
Liner Note Author: Lee Hildebrand.
Recording information: 1962.
Two 1962 Vee-Jay sessions that feature the Professor working with such stalwarts of the Bradford recording groups as Willie James McPhatter (also a great organist), Calvin White, and Madeline Bell, who is actually the focus of many tracks. Check "They Came Out Shouting" and "Daniel Is a Prayin' Man" and you'll hear what the Rolling Stones were seeking when they added Bell to "Gimme Shelter." Bradford's own vocals are not his best but the overall quality of songs is very high. Liner notes mainly trace Bradford history. ~ Dave Marsh

old school black gospel Music Lover: from CARLTON, GA US -- June, 27, 2017

If you love old school black gospel, you'll love this CD.
I do, and I do. Tight harmonies, swinging choruses, great uplift if you're feeling low---you don't even have to be a believer to let Bradford and his choir pick you up and carry you away.
