Osten's film, which features more than 10,000 extras and 1,000 horses, is as excessive and beautiful as any scene from Antony and Cleopatra or Ben-Hur.

The story itself is nothing special, but the lush jungle setting is magnificent and it gives the film a special feeling.

Product Description:
This 1929 silent film has been given a fresh orchestral score by Nitin Sawhney. Two kings both desire Sunita, the daughter of a hermit, and they decide to gamble for her hand in marriage. Sunita would rather marry Ranjit, but he loses the game of craps to Sohan, setting into motion a series of deceptions. THROW OF DICE was the second Indian feature from director Franz Osten, whose first film was LIGHT OF ASIA.
