In 1985, with no demos but with a fanatical live following, Thrashing Doves infamously signed a two album recording contract with A&M Records. This followed a well-publicized bidding war amongst the major labels. This reissue brings together the band's first album for A&M plus related bonus tracks. The bonus tracks include all the b-sides - a live version of the Stones classic 'Sympathy for the Devil', 'The All Night Chemist', 'The Receiver' and 'Self Infliction Crew' and, of course, the 'Street Groove' re-mix of 'Je$u$ on the Payroll'. This was the track that proved to be so popular on the Balearic dance-floors of Europe and in the USA where it reached the Top 20 in the Billboard Dance Chart. As well as the original album version, this collection includes a brand new, previously unreleased recording of the song, 'Mission Creep (A New Je$u$ on the Payroll). BEDROCK VICE was made with contributions from widely respected record producers, Chris Thomas (Sex Pistols, Pretenders), Jimmy Iovine (Patti Smith, Simple Minds), Bruce Lampcov and renowned mix expert Bob Clearmountain (Roxy Music, Bruce Springsteen, Tears for Fears).
